American professional golfer John Maxwell Homa, also called as Max Homa pro golfer, gained notoriety after winning the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship. On October 30, 2022, he welcomed to his first child baby. In September 2022, he successfully defended the Fortinet Championship.

John Maxwell Homa was born to Bonnie Milstein and John Homa on November 19, 1990, in Burbank, California. Maxwell has a strong passion for movies, possibly because John Homa, his father, is an acting instructor. His mother, Bonnie, works as the Valley Produce market's office manager. Max gradually improved till the end of the season. He started the year at No. 42 in Golfstat's rankings but rose to No. 11 after some stronger performances. Only his teammate Stephan Hale was ahead of him.

He participated in all 14 competitions and won the Most Improved Player prize. He was chosen second-team All-Pac-10 and NCAA All-Southwest Region following the conclusion of the season. He was named to the PING Division I All-American third team during his junior year. Along with teammates Michael Kim and Brandon Hagy, Homa was named to the second team of the PAC 12 and received the MVP award. The Golf Coaches Association of America recognized him in his senior year with first-team All-American and All-Nicklaus teams.

Homa was chosen to be a member of the 2008 Junior America's Cup Team and represent Southern California. A year later, he took part in the Robinson Ranch Ventura County Junior Golf Association. After his outstanding performance of 72-73=145, he won. Homa competed in the US Amateur in 2010. He got off to a strong start and advanced to the quarterfinals. Sadly, he was defeated by An Byeong-hun, a Cal colleague and the current champion.

Homa finished the year ranked fourth in California after the noteworthy performance in the US Amateur. Homa participated in the Open in October 2013 after going pro in 2013. At his first Tour competition after going pro, he placed T-9. He participated in the Tour qualifying school in December and placed sixth. Max defeated fellow rookie Jonathan Randolph by one stroke to take home his maiden professional victory at the Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am in May 2014. He received $117,000 for the victory.

The dream of every golfer is to triumph in a PGA Tour competition. Homa finally won on the PGA Tour in 2019 after several inconsistent years of professional golf. On May 5, he defeated Joel Dahmen by three shots to claim the Wells Fargo Championship. He received a two-year contract extension for his PGA Tour card in addition to the $1.422 million in prize money. Additionally, he qualified for the 2020 Masters and PGA Championships thanks to that triumph.
