When Morgan Pressel was very young, she decided to pursue a career in golf. Twelve-year-old Pressel stated, "I started following my father to the driving range, and he allowed me whack some balls." When she was eight years old, she started going places with "Papa," her mom's father. Pressel stated in a 2005 interview, "He knows how to raise a champion."

Morgan Pressel qualified for the U.S. Women's Open at the age of twelve and in the seventh grade at Boca Raton, Florida, by shooting a 2-under-par 70. She qualified for the Open at the second-youngest age, following 10-year-old Beverly Klass in 1967.

In Tampa, Florida, on May 23, 1988, Morgan Lee Pressel was born. She is an American citizen with Jewish heritage. Her parents are Mike Pressel and Kathy Krickstein Pressel. She is the sister of Madison Pressel.

After her mother passed away from breast cancer when she was 15 years old, Pressel moved in with her grandparents while her two younger siblings stayed with their father. Her uncle, Aaron Krickstein, is the descendant of top-10 tennis player Aaron Krickstein.

Morgan Pressel married senior vice president of Octagon Global Events Andy Bush in January 2013. At a pro-am event in 2007 was their first encounter. They don't yet have children and live in Boca Raton, Florida.

When Morgan Pressel was still a wee child, he started competing nationally in golf. When she was 12 years old in 2001, she became the youngest player to qualify for the US Women's Open. This stood as the world record up until 2007.

At the age of 17, Morgan Pressel was one of three co-leaders going into the U.S. Women's Open final round. She shared the lowest amateur honors with Brittany Lang thanks to her second-place finish. In 2005, Morgan Pressel participated in seven LPGA competitions and made the cut in all of them.

In addition to the U.S. Women's Amateur, the most prestigious amateur competition, Morgan Pressel won the North and South Women's Amateurs at Pinehurst in 2005. At the conclusion of her amateur career, she was named the 2005 Girls Rolex Junior Player of the Year. As an amateur, she won 11 AJGA titles, including the "AJGA Slam" - winning all five AJGA Invitationals.

After submitting a successful application to the LPGA at age 17, Morgan Pressel became a professional in 2005. In the five-round Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, she tied for sixth place, gaining a tour card for 2006. Before she graduated from high school in May 2006 while working part-time on the tour.

Morgan Pressel became the youngest woman to win a major in the modern era when she captured her first LPGA major at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2007. She retained that record until Lydia Ko captured the 2015 Evian Championship. As a result of her triumph, she moved up the global rankings from 17th to fourth.

In her debut round as a pro golfer, on July 15, 2007, at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, Morgan Pressel aced the hole. She earned a spot on the 2007 team in her second full year on the LPGA Tour after qualifying for the Solheim Cup teams in 2007, 2009, and 2011. Through 2011, she had a perfect 3-0-0 record in Solheim Cup singles competition.

On April 26, 2015, Morgan Pressel placed second at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. Ko triumphed on the second playoff hole. The most recent victory for Morgan Pressel was at the 2008 Kapalua LPGA Classic. She also won the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, among others.
